Steve is an experienced, technology business executive, investor and advisor. Today, he works with and advises leading technology companies including Technomile and Bark, amongst others, on management strategy, product management, sales, marketing, finance and fundraising.

Previously, as President, CEO and Co-Founder of uKnow, Steve led the company in its mission of creating and powering smart tools that connect and protect digital families including uKnowKids (the world's first parental intelligence/monitoring service), uKnowFamily (mobile family locator app), and uKnowID (social identity management & protection). uKnow also powered the digital family safety products for companies such as Comcast xfinity (NASDAQ: CMCSA) and Intersections (NASDAQ: INTX).

Steve was also the Founder and Chairman of buySAFE, the world’s leading ecommerce trust and safety company currently powering products such as the buySAFE Shopping Guarantee, the Norton Safe Shopping Guarantee and Dun & Bradstreet Shopping Guarantee. During his nine years at buySAFE, Steve led almost every aspect of operations and co-raised almost $30 million in venture capital. As Sr. VP of Product and Strategy, he was responsible for leading the company’s business intelligence, professional services, and product management teams that developed all of the Company’s core products. He also previously led the marketing, sales, and business development teams as Sr. VP of Strategic Growth during the company’s initial years of rapid growth.

Prior to founding buySAFE, Steve led USF&G’s New York City surety bond operations where he managed a $1.5 billion portfolio of surety bond guarantees and built the business over two years from $3 million to more than $10 million annual revenue.

Steve is a regular public speaker on the subjects of Internet/mobile safety and security, ecommerce, and information economics, and he has served on the Advisory Boards of leading technology companies such as buySAFE, Arcus, LaunchBox Digital and Technomile.

Steve was appointed to the Virginia JCOTS’ Cybercrimes Advisory Committee in 2006, and he is also the inventor of three U.S. patents: “Safe Transaction Guaranty” (US Patent 7,644,019) and “Method, System, and Components for Obtaining, Evaluating and/or Utilizing Seller, Buyer, and Transaction Data” (US Patents 8,515,791 and 8,744,917).

Steve earned his MBA at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. With the help of a collegiate golf scholarship, he earned his BS in Business Administration at Florida Southern College. In his spare time, Steve enjoys coaching youth baseball, football and basketball.
